This beautiful silverplated bride basket has highly detailed leaf and fruit details on the handle and a gorgeous hand-painted ruffled peach colored glass insert with an enameled design of tiny white flowers, green leaves, and purple scrolling. The piece is signed Pairpoint Mfg Co. and dates to the 1890s.
These baskets were used in the 19th century to carry flowers in a wedding procession and then to display the bridal bouquet during the reception. They are perfect for holding fruit or sweets.
